Why not think of joining a small group of high schoolers for a 10 night visit to France. Three glorious days in Paris, and 7 in the idyllic countryside of lower Normandy. Visit the Loire Valley, D- Day beaches, loads of châteaux (medieval and Renaissance), cathedrals, Roman ruins, Renaissance art and architecture, museums, school, farm, shopping, and on and on. The 7 days in the countryside will be in a 300 year old, picturesque, renovated boarding school.
The cost is $2600 PLUS airfare (budget about $1000) and this covers about everything: all accommodation (including three nights in Paris), all transportation within France; all meals (except Paris…to allow choice), all entrance fees into sites; and travel insurance. The 2024 trip will depart around March 22.
Tentative Itinerary: Day 1: Depart Los Angeles
Day 2: Arrive Paris; we pick you up (traveling as a group) at the airport and take you by minivan to the school, stopping on the way at Chartres gothic cathedral.
Day 3: Jublains Roman village (20 minute drive); local shopping
Day 4: Lassay medieval château
Day 5: Normandy D Day beaches and Le Mont St Michel. 2024 is the 80th year since DDay (June 6, 1944).
Day 6: Sainte Suzanne picturesque medieval village
Day 7: Loire valley; 2 major châteaux and a vineyard.
Day 8: “free” day.
Day 9: Travel to Paris, visiting the Chateau of Versailles on the way. Stay in hotel
Day 10: Louvre museum (or Orsay Museum if Louvre is closed); left bank; outside views Notre Dame cathedral; Seine River cruise. Stay in hotel.
Day 11: local shopping; Champs Élysées; Eiffel Tower. Stay in hotel.
Day 12: depart.
NOTE: This tour will require participants to miss 2 or 3 days of school.
